When adding a new Evo Cloud user, you can select the appropriate user type (User, Admin, or Guest). However, when users are synced to Evo via a configured directory, they are automatically assigned the type of User.
For most a user type of User will match exactly to how they will be interacting with Evo. But for others who will interact with increased authorization they will require the user type of Admin.
How to convert to admin
Converting the user type for a user to admin, should only be done if they should have access to the Evo admin portal. Or should be granted elevated access to systems or applications that are interacting with Evo.
- From the top navigation, click Tenants.
- In the displayed list of tenants, find the tenant you want to administer. Click anywhere in the row for the tenant.
- From the side navigation, click Users.
- In the displayed list of users, find the user you want to edit. Click on the email address of the user.
- Click Convert to Admin.
- Click Yes.
Now that the user has been converted to an admin, the next time they log into the Evo portal, they will be presented with the Evo Admin Portal dashboard. You will want to ensure that they have been assigned the appropriate Access Role, and if applicable the appropriate Elevated Access Group.
How to convert to user
Be aware that if you convert a user with the type of Admin back to type User, they will lose all access they were previously granted.
- From the top navigation, click Tenants.
- In the displayed list of tenants, find the tenant you want to administer. Click anywhere in the row for the tenant.
- From the side navigation, click Users.
- In the displayed list of users, find the user you want to edit. Click on the email address of the user.
- Click Convert to User.
- Click Yes.
You can always convert the user back to type Admin in the future if they require additional access. Simply follow the How to convert to admin steps.
