Let’s go over some high-level Do’s and Don’ts when using Evo:
DO: Have security groups set up with users in them that you wish to sync over via Active Directory (Azure or On-Premise). Ensure that the users have a unique email address.
DON’T: Try to sync users without an email address, or with a non-unique email address.
DO: When using Elevated Access, the groups and account must be set up in the portal prior to trying to log in with our Evo Credential Provider.
DON’T: Try an Elevated Login using credentials other than your Evo credentials.
DO: When using our Evo Secure Login mobile application, you must scan a valid Evo key first.
DON’T: Try to scan a 3rd party key before scanning an Evo key.
DO: Have a minimum of two (2) Admin level users to manage your instance of Evo.
DON’T: Have only one Administrator managing your instance of Evo.
DO: When using SAML integrations, have at least 2 separate browser windows open inside of the environment of the 3rd party application you are testing.
DON’T: Only use one session. If the SAML integration is configured incorrectly, you can lock yourself out of that 3rd party application.
DO: When using Role-Based Permission Groups, apply these groups to other admin accounts as you see fit.
DON’T: Apply these changes to your own (currently signed in) admin account, as you can unintentionally restrict your admin portal access.
DO: When purchasing and assigning licenses, remember that all users that authenticate with Evo (both internal and external) require a license to authenticate and sign-in.
DON’T: Try to log in without a license. The user will not have access.
DO: If using Google Workspace or Evo Cloud as your directory service, local users must also be created to authenticate with the Evo Credential Provider.
DON’T: Try to authenticate without a local user that matches the Evo user.
DO: For any questions or concerns, access our knowledge base at support.evosecurity.com or clicking the Help button on the profile dropdown.
DON’T: Go at it alone if you need help, we are always open and willing to make sure your experience with Evo is as smooth as possible!
